BLACK GIRLS CREATE INTERNATIONAL was created by friends Cina James and Manda Northern in November, 2017. The purpose of this organization is to empower creative women of color to start their own businesses, to build those crucial relationships necessary for success and support, and to help women build a sisterhood through which anything could be accomplished.
Urged on by the fact that there's currently no other organization in the Atlanta area that's dedicated to uplifting, connecting, and empowering creative, entrepreneurial women of color, Cina and Manda knew they had to do something to fill the gap. The idea for BGC started over brunch one Sunday and within a week, Cina and Manda had put something together. With both ladies being a serial entrepreneur, they knew rapid action was the key to bringing this idea to life.
Together, the founders have over a decade of experience in starting multiple businesses; both digital and brick and mortar. BGC is an organization that provides...

Connection Mentorship Sisterhood
These are the three pillars of our organization. Read more below to know what these phrases mean for us and how we envision our impact on our community.
At the core of our organization is the mission of connecting women to other women, resources, mentors, and opportunities. This is how we plan to empower women of color in our community. Some connections that we plan to make in our inaugural year…
Connecting you to mentors or mentees through our quarterly mentor/mentees mixers
Connecting you to opportunities through our job and opportunities board (coming soon)
Connecting you to sisterhood through volunteering opportunities, monthly networking events and opportunities for leadership within the organization
Mentorship is one of the pillars of success and we believe wholeheartedly in this. This is why we have quarterly events to connect you to either a mentor or a mentee. You are also able to do both! We highly encourage every one of our members to mentor a younger and/or inexperienced woman who needs help. In this way, we’ll be able to support and lift one another up to success.
We cannot do this alone; we need our sisters!
Finally, the most important pillar of our mission and vision is sisterhood. The core of our being here at Black Girls Create is sisterhood. We want to do nothing but promote a positive group of black women
Our vision is to impact 1 million women and girls by 2030. We plan to do this by empowering women and girls in the areas of finance, entrepreneurship, health and well being! We are dedicating our time and resources towards helping women feel empowered in every aspect of their lives!
